This is the first year I’ve ever had a dining room I was excited to decorate for Christmas and it’s just in time since we’re hosting! Our recent One Room Challenge makeover has given us two new rooms to hang out and entertain in and getting to set the table for our guests and make it pretty for the holidays has been so fun. I went with a very earthy and neutral christmas tablescape and am so happy with how it turned out!
EARTHY AND NEUTRAL CHRISTMAS TABLESCAPE
For the centerpiece, I found this really beautiful and simple advent candle holder at Hobby Lobby and placed some varying sized amber bottles in the middle of it. I just love how that deep amber color looks against the gold and green.
Then I wrapped some fresh garland in a loose circle around the candle holder – because you can never have too much garland. And it smells SO good. Then I just placed some dry eucalyptus on either side to help fill up the space a bit more.
For each place setting, I used our new plates from CB2 that my mama got us for christmas (thanks mom!). I really wanted some beautiful ceramic dinnerware and love that they have a little lip around the edge so food doesn’t easily fall off.
I placed a little sprig of boxwood on each place setting to tie in some more greenery. Dan thinks it’s pointless but that’s ok – I like it :-p
I found the napkins at HomeGoods and our gold silverware is from Target and it totally makes me feel fancy whenever I use it.
I’m a bit stressed about hosting this year, even though it’s just my parents and Dan’s dad, but I’m so excited to all be gathered around this beautiful table. Which I will be sharing the tutorial on in the new year! It means so much that we were able to keep it in the family and I know this Christmas is just the beginning of the many memories we will share around it.
I hope you all have the most wonderful christmas with your friends & families and spend time celebrating the true reason for the season. <3

I hope the Christmas dinner went well, but I can’t imagine anything less with this gorgeous neutral and earthy tones tablescape. I love every little detail you’ve added – yes, that includes a little sprig of boxwood that allows the greenery to shine. The garland is also lovely and I love how there’s a natural light coming from the windows because it makes the table suitable for holiday breakfast and lunch too. I’m sure it’s pure joy making family memories around such a wonderful table.

The table looks so beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration.

Love your gold tableware. I have a gold set – very inexpensive – and have loved having a change from the silver, depending on what dishware I’m using. It has held up surprisingly well although I do wash it by hand to keep the harsh dishwashing detergent from discoloring it.
Your table is beautiful, with or without the decor.

This tablescape is so pretty! I’ve been searching for new dishes – I’m going to check out those CB2 ones now. Have you used the gold flatware a lot? I’ve been looking at them and fawning over various sets for YEARS now, but I wonder about how they will look after a few uses… There is something about your first dinner party at your new table – soak up the memories as you make them this year!
