How to Get a Concrete Finish the Easy Way

Ok so I know I talked a little bit about this amazing new spray paint that I used in my project I shared on Friday, but it’s just so good that I thought it deserved it’s own post. And I swear I’m not getting paid to rave about it. I just love it so much and think it’s a total game changer and want to share it with the world 🙂 So let’s take a look at how to get a concrete finish the easy way!

I don’t know about you, but I love all the concrete decor that’s been popping up lately. I feel like it all started with concrete countertops. But, has now made it’s way into planters, vases, lights and so much more. So I had this idea for our Monthly DIY Challenge post which I’ll be sharing Wednesday, and wanted to use concrete planters.

I went out and hit up the craft and home decor stores but was striking out. Either they didn’t have any, or the few that they did have already had a fake plant in it or some other accessory. I figured there had to be a way to create a faux concrete look and make my own so I did a quick google search which led me to buying this can of spray paint from Michaels.

Stone texture spray paint

I had pretty low expectations but thought it was at least worth a shot. Umm, ya. This stuff is unbelievable. Seriously, you guys. I couldn’t believe how well it covered and how real the texture looks. TOTAL.GAME.CHANGER. And if you don’t like concrete projects then I apologize in advance because I’ll probably be sharing quite a few 😉

I’ve always wanted to use concrete. but the hassle of having to mix a paste and do all that work always turned me off. Plus I’ve seen other posts about it cracking and not turning out the way it was supposed to. This is a much easier option if you’re short on time but still want to get a similar look. It obviously has a bit more of a texture than real concrete, but for me, it’s close enough and totally worth it.

If you don’t have a Michaels nearby you can buy it online HERE.

I used it on this cool little candle holder for my #swapitlikeitshot post and turned it into a jewelry holder.

Whaaaaa?! This is brilliant! Concrete is way too heavy for the RV so I will definitely be saving this trick for later!
