#AD | Some still shots of my recent desk nook makeover in partnership with @benjaminmoore! Truthfully, when it was a reading nook, it didn’t get much use. And now that the girls are sharing a room, we didn’t have enough space to have two desks. There are two closets in the room so turning this one into a desk nook made so much sense! After pulling a handful of samples, (I limited myself to only 9 this time 🤪 ) I let Eloise choose the blue and she went with the darkest one, Midnight Blue 1638, Aura Interior, Eggshell finish. This color is on the beadboard and will be on the trim, doors and bunk beds…and maybe the ceiling 😉 It’s a beautiful, rich color with subtle gray undertones.

I chose the color for inside the nook and knew which one the winner was as soon as I saw it 😍 Hampshire Gray HC-101, Aura Interior, Eggshell finish is the most gorgeous, neutral green that I’m already trying to figure out where else in our home I can put it.

The Aura Interior Paint went on so smoothly and dried to the perfect finish. It features exclusive Color Lock Technology that provides breathtaking color that lasts, and with all the action this nook is going to get I love that it can stand up to repeat washing with no color rub-off and loss of sheen.

Kids rooms are always so fun to design, and I always go a little outside of my comfort zone with colors and patterns which is a fun challenge. I can’t wait to finish up this space for the girls…next up - wallpaper!

#AD | Before & after of Eloise’s closet nook thanks to @benjaminmoore! A few years ago we turned it into a reading nook and now that the girls are sharing a room we decided to make a more functional use of the space and turn it into a desk nook. The majority of the room is going to be painted Midnight Blue 1638, Aura Interior, Eggshell finish which is the most gorgeous, deep blue color (that Eloise picked 🥰 ) I carried that onto the trim around the closet and then wanted something a little lighter and contrasting on the inside and I think I found my new favorite shade of green. Hampshire Gray HC-101, Aura Interior, Eggshell finish is the most perfect color that has a vintage-y, cottage feel. Plus, it stands up to repeat washing with no color rub-off and loss of sheen. With a creative little 8 year old who loves to draw and craft, I’m sure I’ll be doing some scrubbing on these walls 🤪

To finish off the nook I found the cutest hutch for $10 on Facebook Marketplace that just happened to fit perfectly and adds so much character and charm. And now Eloise has her own little space to let her imagination run wild.

Farewell October - you were my favorite ☺️ we

Farewell October - you were my favorite ☺️ we celebrated 6(!) family birthdays last month, had Savio’s baby dedication, baked yummy fall things, went on lots of walks, updated two bathrooms and finished with one of the warmest Halloweens I can remember. We packed in a lot and my heart is full with all these new memories 🥰

Our half bath refresh is complete ☺️ this is the only bathroom on our main level and it gets a TON of action. And over the years my thrifted vanity cabinet started falling apart and our faucet became impossible to turn on and off for the kids.

So I began my hunt for a new (old) vanity and found this gorgeous oak dresser on marketplace for $75. I sanded it down and gave it a coat of my favorite dark walnut gel stain. Instead of keeping the top wood, I decided to go a more durable route and found a gorgeous remnant piece of Mont Blanc Quartzite 😍 we had it fabricated and cut to size and then adjusted the inside of the dresser to fit the plumbing.

To top it off I found the most gorgeous brass vintage inspired faucet that’s the crown jewel of this whole space 🤩

I switched out the pendant lights for something a little softer and more elegant, added an antique arched mirror, a gallery wall full of thrifted frames and vintage art and a repurposed Roman shade with beautiful block print fabric.

The bones of this room were still solid but it feels like a totally fresh and new space now packed with so much more character and charm 🥰
